President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili has responded to Zurab Abashidze`s comments. Margvelashvili stressed that Georgia will continue in its path to Europe. 

"European and Euro-Atlantic integration if Georgia is a historical choice, which was clearly defined and  repeatedly defended by Georgian people. This is one of the reasons why the Georgian people elected me President. Georgia`s aspiration to NATO is dictated  by the desire to enhance the country`s stability, development, democracy and success. It serves for strengthening international security and is not directed against  sovereign interests of any country."
