Nika Gvaramia`s blackmail case - prosecutor"s office says situation is in deadlock

Nika Gvaramia`s case of blackmail and threats the investigation of which the prosecutor"s office launched a few weeks ago is in a deadlock, stated in the Parliament the current Deputy Prosecutor General and the main candidate for the position of the Chief Prosecutor General, Irakli Shotadze .

Shotadze says no one confirms either Gvaramia`s claims of being blackmailed nor Akhvlediani`s testimony.

"There is no other witness who would confirm either what Nika Gvaramia or Alexi Akhvlediani say, therefore, we are at an impasse in terms of the evidence submitted. Indeed there is a question mark for me, how can you shed light on this fact. This is the reality," - said Mr. Shotadze.

This statement was made by Shotadze in response to a question from MP Eka Kherkheulidze.
