Giorgi Margvelashvili responds to an appeal of the famous Georgians to pardon Gigi Ugulava.  According to the Statement Giorgi Margvelashvili can not take a decision, which would  create an extra sense of loyalty towards such crime.

"Dear subscribers,

I received your appeal with request to pardon Gigi  Ugulava.

I appreciate people who are actively involved in public life.  Especially valuable for me is your position, position of the people, who are outstanding members of our society in various fields. I understand your emotion towards the man, who is  in custody. We had similar emotion many times because of our forgiving nature,"- is stated in an announcement.

However Giorgi Margvelashvili states that "I can  not take a decision, which would  create an extra sense of loyalty towards such crime.  Therefore I can not accept your appeal."

The request was sent to the President today. Elene Khoshtaria delivered the letter to the Administration.  Giorgi Khoshtaria, Nani Bregvadze, Manana Doijashvili, Zurab Kiknadze, Gela Charkviani, Nino Sukhishvili, Iliko Sukhishvili, Zaal. Kokaia, Malkhaz Songhulashvili, Rusudan Gotsiridze, Lasha Bughadze, DatoTurashvili, Dato Sakvarelidze, Rati Amaghlobeli, Keti Khutsishvili, Tamar Gurchiani, Tamar (Tata) Tsopurashvili, Tiko Tsomaia, Nino Evgenidze and others signed the appeal.
