MIA or Inspector for Personal Data Protection – Who will have the Keys?

Who will at the end have so called “Keys” of secret surveillance and which draft law will be affirmed by members of Parliament? This issue will be discussed in Parliament today and draft law prepared by parliamentarian majority will be presented.  Eka Beselia, Irakli Sesiashvili and Gedevan Popkhadze are the authors of the document. According to draft law, so called “System of Two Keys” will be introduced. Ministry of Internal Affairs will have one of the Keys. Inspector for Personal Data Protection will have the other. The deadline of presenting the draft law is tomorrow. That is why the authors had to prepare it in short period of time. This draft law is opposed by member of Parliament Shalva  Shavgulidze, who is author of law about Secret Surveilance. It is unacceptable for him that MIA will have one of the so called Keys.
