The Majority supports separation of the Security Service from the Ministry of Interior and believes that the union of these two functions in one body is more dangerous than their division.
According to the statement made by Gigla Agulashvili, a representative of the Majority much depends on the review process. However, he believes that the initiative will be supported by both, the Majority and the Minority that still has some concerns.
Levan Bejashvili of the National Movement states that the seperation should not happen formally and should not be done in terms of balancing the interests of the government. He said that so far the process has such a tendency with personnel shifting.
"The successful practice should be taken as a basis for the reform, where the special services are under the strict civilian control," - said Bezhashvili.
